In my never ending quest to feed my dogs healthy, tasty snacks I am always trying new homemade treats and making up new recipes myself along the way. This one was easy to mix up and prepare and a nice mix of healthy foods. I made good use of some over ripe bananas I had in the freezer from our trees. Blueberry Pumpkin Banana Treats 1/2 cup blueberries 2 over ripe bananas 1 15 oz can pure pumpkin 1 1/3 cup rolled oats 1 tbs local honey 1 egg Pre-heat oven to 350 Mix all ingredients well, mashing up the bananas until they are smooth. Drop teaspoon size balls onto a silicone line cookie sheet. Bake 1 hour until browned and chewy. Makes approx. 45 treats. Calories: approximately 21 per treat. Store in the refrigerator after baking.

I liked the softer texture of this treat. The key is letting them cook long enough so they are firm in the center, and mashing the bananas into small pieces. My official taste testers liked them. I tried one too...pretty good!
